it was a long time ago now but when I was at school I wanted to be in the police force. academia wasn’t really my bag, sports and art was more my thing!
I left school with not really any qualifications to shout about and went to the Hewett 6th form school for a month when my best friend at school invited me to come and have a look round his workplace. so thats what I did and after looking round the boss called me in the office for a chat and asked me if I fancied an apprenticeship. so I said yup!
the job was in a reprographics house, a job that I’d never even knew existed. I loved every minute of the job, it was all done by hand creating flyers, brochures, adverts etc for print using film and cutting out tint panels. unfortunately the job was superseded as computers came into play and so I moved over to doing the same work using photoshop, quark etc. eventually after gaining as much experience as I could within the design world and seeing what worked and what didn’t, I went it alone creating design work and websites. never looked back and here I am running my own design & development company employing a couple of people.
so, I sort of fell into the industry!

I’ve always loved writing. In terms of the comic it’s an idea I had since middle school, partially influenced by when I first saw a friend play Sonic on his Mega Drive. In terms of writing as a career, my Dad always encouraged me, even when I was doing jobs like working in a pub. It’s something I’m still working on!
