While you can do all the homework in the world when sourcing a new venue to network in, you’re never really sure what you’re going to get!
Last night was the turn of The Coach & Horses on Bethel Street to host it’s first ever Norwich Kitty Business Networking Group event. Having been there early in the Summer for a social evening we had a fair idea what to expect, however the pub has changed hands in the meantime meaning a lengthy delay in us sampling a formal event on the premises. New Landlord Anthony seems to be running a good ship, the pub was busy on arrival and there was a good ‘buzz’ about the place. A new theme of ‘World Tapas’ has been introduced and judging by the complimentary food we were able to sample this is bound to make the Coach & Horses an even more popular stop off for both local workers and theatre goers alike. City Centre pubs don’t survive on food alone of course and Anthony has backed up the enticing menu by promising that there’ll always be a minimum of 8 real ales on tap! This combination went down really well last night with almost 30 members of the Norwich Kitty Business Networking Group in attendance in the lower section of the pub. Sure, there was a bit of noise to contend with from the main bar area but the pub was exceptionally busy as late night Christmas shopping brought out the crowds to Norwich City Centre.
Our members are now more than familiar with the quick-fire networking format that was introduced at the start of the Autumn designed to introduce all attendees to the room as quickly as possible and this paid dividends last night with so many businesses in attendance. It was great to see 3 new faces too – Hal Hutchinson from Vapour Creations Ltd and business partners Ollie & Rob from recently formed Robert Moy Estate Agents. They seemed to enjoy the evening making several useful contacts in the process. Our final verdict on The Coach & Horses and Anthony and his team? An excellent pub with welcoming staff, offering great food and drink and an ideal room to network in. Not bad for a first impression! We very much hope to make it a regular Norwich Kitty Networking Group venue in 2017.
Although last night’s Norwich Kitty Networking Group was the final formal networking event of 2016 we still have our much anticipated Christmas party to look forward to next Thursday 1st December at Gringos Mexican Bar on Prince of Wales Road. Bring it on Amigos!
